This year the focus is on physical and mental resilience in the life of a dancer.
We open up with a discussion on navigating failure versus perfectionism through the ups and downs of a career in dance. Dance psychotherapist Terry Hyde will chair this discussion with contributions from Rachel Ní Bhraonáin (dancer/choreographer, Ireland), Emma Jayne Park (Cultured Mongrel Dance Theatre, choreographer, Scotland), Liz Roche and Shelby Williams (Biscuit Ballerina soloist, Royal Ballet Flanders, US/Belgium)
Delighted Liz will be part of the Closing Plenary Roundtable — 'Co-Motion across borders - Future Moves' with Valerie Behan (Culture Ireland), Andrew Hurst (One Dance UK), Steven Brett (Arts – British Council), Nicola Curry (Maiden Voyage Dance), Mags Byrne (DU Dance) and Fearghus O'Conchuir (National Dance Company Wales).

Some Destroyed Sites is a filmed relationship between body and land in the Shannon delta - a visual poem to all that was lost in the creation of a town, and all that survives in the hands and hearts of its people. This exciting work is brought to you by collaborative engagement from an award-winning team of artists, choreographers Katherine O'Malley (associate dance artist with Liz Roche Company), Ella Clarke (director of Ella Clarke Choreography) and filmmaker/theatre director Jason Byrne (director of Loose Canon Theatre Company).

Presented by The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick and Liz Roche Company in partnership with Dublin Dance Festival. The symposium will feature presentations and performances from leading dance artists and academics from Ireland, the UK, Australia, Iran, Austria, Malaysia and Sweden and explore the various means of capturing creative process to engage with the layers, threads, fragments and memories that interweave throughout the process of dance-making. Symposium Keynote by Prof. Susan Kozel from the University of Malmö.

I/Thou Roscommon Arts Centre on June 1st as part of the Brian O’Doherty | Coming Home Exhibition which runs May 31st - July 26th at Roscommon Arts Centre funded by Creative Ireland in association with fine art print studio Stoney Road Press, Dublin and The Irish Museum of Modern Art.
Liz Roche has taken iconic visual artist Brian O’Doherty/Patrick Ireland’s One, Here, Now; The Ogham Cycle as a point of departure to create a compelling and beautiful dance work which explores the everyday intimacies and energies that form our relationships to our surroundings and each other.
Associate Dance Artist Lucia Kickham is the recipient of the Dance Ireland HATCH Residency 2018 for the development of a new work INIT: The Warm Up Project. and a Dance Limerick Percolate Residency for "This is me trying to communicate". INIT: The Warm Up Project has just been presented as part of the Dublin Dance Festival First Looks Programme 2019. Upcoming - "This is Me, Trying to Communicate" June 22nd, 7.30pm at Dance Limerick as part of the Modes of Capture Symposium.

Liz Roche Company dancer Sarah Cerneaux remounted our 2015 work Bastard Amber on the graduating contemporary dance students of the prestigious Lasalle College in Singapore. Sarah spent over two weeks with the students in February teaching the work. LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore is a leading tertiary institution in cutting edge contemporary arts and design education and practice.
